47 Skin is a skincare brand that cares. It offers anti-blemish and scar repair creams and serums with a unique formula designed to clear spots, fade scars, and heal skin. At the core of the brand sits a genuine care about their customers - restoring confidence and making them feel good about the skin that they’re in. 47 Skin joined us in April 2023.
Here’s the 5 step process we took to increase YoY revenue by 451% in the first 3 months - as well as dropping the cost to acquire a new customer by 41%.
We made sure we had a complete overview of as many internal and external factors as possible. First, we establish the brand tone, expression and positioning to ensure that all creative decisions are cohesive and expressed externally in line with Nic’s brand.
Then we move onto digging deep into all of the data we had at our disposal such as account data, customer feedback, comments, and reviews - using AI to help sift through these with a toothcomb and identify key trends.
We also look into what’s been working for them creatively in the past as this gives us a good idea of what creative styles and angles are already resonating with their target audience.
This then forms the basis for our creative strategy going forward as well as the production of native assets for all relevant performance channels.
Moving on…
Working closely with our agency creative partners Hambi Media we created a range of assets. Segmented creatives across high-production angles, UGC, and design ads engineered to hit specific personas identified in the research process.
Following this we developed key concepts with an 80/20 split of data-driven frameworks and tested ‘big swing’ concepts.
We created a tonne of static ads that revolved around specific outcomes and product USPs. Luckily, 47 Skin’s product gave us a lot to work with.

We tested across these angles to produce static concepts using “headliner” style ads, and pumped them full of social proof.
47 Skin and Nic have a unique and authentic origin story. For a bit of context here, Nic used to suffer with acne. As a result of that acne, scarring. All the products he had tried didn’t work… until his grandmother sent him some mystery ointment that got the job done! Fast forward a few years and he’s packaging it up for sale so that others can feel good in their skin too.
Founders' stories help to contextualise specific pain points and USPs around a narrative that speaks to customers in a compelling and real way. This is a concept that we know drives solid performance across the board (when done right).
It’s time to let the ads rip, gather learnings, iterate on and scale spend behind winning concepts. As with all accounts, we make sure that we keep a consolidated account structure as well as set up isolated creative testing environments to gather and learn from clear data.
We then take learnings and gather insights together to form the basis of a creative review that will work as a brief for the next batch of iterations. By doing this we ensure we’re consistently driving incremental improvements within the account and creative.
47 Skin already has a great product, a great story, as well as great branding which means working together just made sense. We’re really excited to see what the next year has in store for 47 Skin.
